Notice: Suitcase and Mac OS X 10.5.6 Update
Extensis has received reports, indicating that Suitcase Fusion (v12.1.7) failed to run under Mac OS X 10.5.6, Apple’s most recent System Update.
The cause of this was found to be an issue with Bonjour (formerly “Rendezvous”) networking technology that is a part of Mac OS X. Changes to Bonjour networking in Mac OS X 10.5.6 resulted in a condition where Suitcase Fusion would fail to open.
To workaround the problem, users should shorten their computer’s Bonjour name. For information on how to do this, see the following knowledge base article: Article # 7902230
This issue had me pulling my hair out for about an hour today before I checked the Extensis website to look into paying to upgrade the new version in order to fix the problem. OK sure this probably won’t apply to ANY one else out there who reads hjays. Here it is anyway just in case it can save someone else the pain that it caused me.
One response to “Suitcase Fusion Help”
Today we released an update to Suitcase Fusion 2 that fixes this issue.
From the Suitcase Fusion 2 menu, please choose “Check for Updates” to download the newest version.
Otherwise, you may download the update directly from the Extensis website: http://www.extensis.com/en/support/updates/SF2-13-0-2.jsp
