Upon continued pressure from both Yellowbeard as well as 1Vag, I decided that I would FINALLY watch the FX show “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”. Below, is my review:

Thoughts going into: Considering the two sources, I figured this was going to either have midgets and poop, or it was going to be a 30 minutes in which I wouldn’t have to think to much. Either way, it was worth a watch.

What is it: Watching one episode right in the middle of Season 4? is difficult because I did not have the advantage of seeing the pilot, which typically sets up the character, premise, etc. But from what I can gather, it is about 3 men about my age, that own a crappy bar in Philadelphia and 2 blondes and a fat brunette are some how associated with them. Then, there is also a pretty good amount of Danny Devito. Think of it as Friends meets Taxi meets Howard Stern.

Episode Reviewed: “Who pooped in the Bed?”
In this episode, (and BTW, I didn’t pay attention to characters. Using the picture above from Left to Right, were going Dude 1, Dude 2, Dude 3.) Dude 1 is concerned, because it is found out that the bed that Dude 3 and Danny Devito were sharing(for some reason of another) contained a Poop. The episode is all about the 3 dudes and Danny Devito trying various methods and misadventures to find out who pooped the bed. Meanwhile, Blonde 1, Blonde 2, and Fat Brunette are trying to get Weiners inserted in them by prominent men. In the end, they all come together at the Crap Hole bar to solve the mystery. An interesting mention is that this Episode was directed by my man, Fred Savage. This might be the case with all of them, or it is like Tales from the Cript was and had a different director everytime?

Memorable Quote: (Between Slutty Blonde and Fat Brunette)
Slutty Blonde: “I wan’t to meet classy men, not ones that we discuss our bleached assholes with”
Fat Brunetter: “Well, they would have found out anyway”

What works: The interaction and flow between Dudes 1-3 is very smooth and natural. Danny Devito’s character takes a little getting use to because I keep seeing the penguin every time I look at him… Also, Blonde Slut’s 1 and 2 are crude, but do have some humorous moments, especially while intoxicated.

What doesn’t work Fat Brunette. Yes, she had one or two good lines, but if there is one thing I HATE, it is a fat character trying to be humorous by talking really fast and being comfortable around poop. Everyone knows that fat characters, in an attempt to be humorous, should only do so by either over eating on cake or other messy treats, or by sitting on objects resulting in there ultimate destruction. Also, as per my initial idea of what this show was going to be about, it was Stupid Humor. Saying “poop” 562 times in an episode maybe humorous to some, but I wanted a bit more.

Would I watch it again? Yes. As per most things, I would watch it again because you really can’t judge a series by One Episode. Even so, I did find “Who pooped the Bed” entertaining. Angle, on the other hand, started to do laundry about 10 minutes into it as she reached her Poop Count threshold of 10.

Tivo or DVR worthy? Not yet. This show is on FX at 9 o’clock which is good because if you are a fan of Thursday Night NBC comedy but don’t like being bummed out when it immediately goes to E.R., then this might be right for you. Bad news, its on FX so no HD.
