It’s been 19 years since the last Indy movie, but Harrison Ford slips right back into costume like he never left. Taking place in 1957 during the height of the Cold War, Indiana Jones is in a race to find the Crystal Skull before the Russians do. Indiana is joined by Ray Winstone (Beowulf) as Mac, an old friend; Shia LaBeouf is Mutt Williams, a Jimmy Dean wannabe; and old flame Marion Ravenwood, played by Karen Allen (who has aged very well). Chasing Indy and his gang is Cate Blanchett as Irina Spalko, a Ruskie villain.
I went to the midnight screening with all the die hard fans, and we were not disappointed. This is an old school Indy movie that doesn’t try to be revolutionary or change up what worked in the past. It’s starts of with a bang, with one over-the-top action sequence after another, all done with snappy one-liners, supernatural events, and composer John Williams familiar (but still stirring) score. If I were to compare this to the older films, I liked it a lot more then Temple of Doom; but not quite as much as Raiders or Last Crusade. The movie wanders a little bit in the middle, and
some of the plot twists you will see coming from a mile away. Nonetheless, this is fine popcorn entertainment and well worth your time. Good too see you back Dr. Jones!

Way to go BeeDubs 2 movie reviews in a row!!!
I re-watched Raiders & Doom on Sunday and will watch Crusade tomorrow night. My tickets for the Saturday Utra-Screen showing have already been purchased. Most reviews that I have heard say that is doesn’t live up to the hype. Of course this is the only review that matters to me, and I am looking in forward to it even more now.
After 19 years, no movie could be made that would live up to the hype.
However, unlike Star Wars: Episode 1; they didn’t take a shit all over it; this is an old school Indy movie through and through. Check your brain at the door
and enjoy the ride.
