Flickr Pro Account

Today I received this message from Flickr:
Hey YellowbeardMac! About your photos…

You’ve run into one of the limits of a free account. Your free account will only display the most recent 200 photos you’ve uploaded. All of your photos beyond 200 will remain hidden from view until you either delete newer photos, or upgrade to a Pro account.

None of your photos have been deleted, and if you upgrade, they’ll all come back unharmed.

I was unaware of this limitation until now only because I was to lazy to read through all of the documentation. The question now is do I upgrade to a Pro account for a measly $25 per year? Right now I am leaning heavily towards Yes. Since Flickr has given me so much joy over the years (1st post in Nov 2005) why wouldn’t I want to show my support by paying the fee? Truth be told the only downside is that by paying once I will be roped into renewing the subscription year after year from now on. I am already paying $100 per year for my hosing package here for hjays. Truth be told it would be more worth wile for me to post ALL of the photos here and draw more traffic to this site itself. I could let the older photos expire and drop off Flickr keeping only 200 on at a time. Using the account to draw traffic here & mirroring the posts here so they NEVER go away?

I will have to ponder this decision over the next couple of days. Any feedback as always is welcome.

example here is the link to what is currently my oldest Flickr photo:

  1. And it should be your first pic quite frankly, no matter what option you choose.. This is how it all started…
