Mom’s Chinese Style Fried Rice


1.5 cups water
2 cups rice
3 Tbsp butter or margarine
1 egg
1/2 onion diced
3 Tbsp Soy Sauce

Make rice like box says BUT only use 1/5 cups water (the other /5 will be added later)

Saute onions in margarine, then puch to one side of pan. Crack egg and scramble in other side. Keep scratching it around till cooked. Mix egg and onion together – add rice. Fry for a few minutes. In bowl put 1/2 cup water and 3 Tbsp soy sauce. Add to rice mixture cook till hot and stir.

If you want you can add fried pork cubes to this – makes pork fried rice.

Add celery, add pepper.
