I remember seeing this shortly after Metzler had vacated my property, and headed to Houston… At the time, I figured that he was going to leave this message for people staying in my quest room, reminding them of his greatness.. But recently, I started to paint that room to rid it of the evils it has seen, between both Willy and Metzler, when I found this again above my door. It got me to thinking, YES, I probably ran that household like a warden at times… YES, Metzler and Willy are both considered to be criminals to most…. But do the similarities stop there?

Is it too far fetched to compare “Brooks” to Willy? Both like birds, are fairly intelligent, but because of anger issues are not very employable outside of a prison library?

Is it totally inconceivable to compare “Red” to Metzler? Both prefer bartering goods and services for goods and services instead of putting in a good days work in at a respectable place of employeement, have been called a “Negro” more than once in their lives, and have packed up their entire life’s possessions and headed down south (presumably to spend the rest of theirs lives with another man).

Sadly, I don’t feel that I would have given either of them 3 bottles of Ice Cold Beer to do my taxes, but they can tar my roof anytime.
