MAX PAYNE…MIN ENTERTAINMENT
I’d quite honestly rather get teeth pulled then see this again. Incoherent plot, laugh-out-loud dialogue and very little action for an action movie. As a movie critic I was offended, as a video game nut I was horrified.

APPALOOSA
A very good western (they don’t make enough of them) about the bonds men share and a story involving some fine acting by Ed Harris, Viggo Mortensen and Jeremy Irons. The romantic subplot was needed, but I felt it could’ve been shortened some. The tension and suspense in the film is excellent, and it deserves a viewing if you liked 3:10 to Yuma or, one of my favorites from last year, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.

BODY OF LIES
Ridley Scott once again teams up with Leonardo DiCaprio and Russel Crowe for this charged thriller about the war on terror and the methods that we use. It is the best of the “terror-war” films so far (The Kingdom, Syriana) and both excite you with the intense action and suspense, and scare the hell out of you because it is so real and relevant in today’s world.

BURN AFTER READING
The Coen Brothers have switched back to comedy and we love it. The twisty-story involving various low-life characters and goverment agents over a botched crime is hilarious and well worth it.
