October 27th is the Date

Anyone who reads this blog regularly should know about my love for the internet and my main tool of choice to view it FireFox. I have been using the Beta version of FireFox 2 (download) since they made it public and have had fantastic results. It shows a huge performance boost on the Mac, for me more speed is always very welcome. There are also a lot of little interface improvements to numerous for me go into now. With the upcoming release of IE 7 (have you read this I cannot believe that M$ thinks they can pull shit like this) the browser wars are really heating up.

One thing that I like to do is to help people use their computers and software more efficiently. If you are anything like me you always want to get the maximum out of your user experience. There are so many little features in FireFox that people just don’t know about or aren’t taking advantage of. How can anyone still view the internet without tab browsing? Within the next couple of weeks leading up to the FireFox 2 release I will be posting little tips and showcasing features in the browser. These will be all across the board from keystrokes to extensions to live bookmarks. The little things that have made my just life easier and in some cases are now indispensable to the way that I work.

Hay not every post has to be about blowjobs and drinking. We can try and educate and inform as well. Now if only I had someone to act as a sports writer.

DIY Firefox Release Party: “

The browser wars are back, so that means one thing: Party time!

October 27 is the drop date for Firefox 2, and the Mozilla crew is getting geared up for the big day. They’ve started a website at FirefoxParty.com that’s serving as party central. Mozilla is also encouraging people to start their own Firefox 2 release party. Use the tool to build a party in your town, get all your supplies at the Mozilla shop, cue up some jazz in Songbird and get ready to Rock the Fox.

Right now, we’re 2 weeks out and there are 19 simultaneous parties planned on 6 continents, though the party in Africa doesn’t have any guests yet.

Just out of curiosity, are there any Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 parties planned? It’s October 18, better get crackin’ on that.
